Military Honors DayBuster’s Parking lot, Friday, July 3rd, noon-5pm. Ceremony at 1:30pm.The event will cater to veterans and their families. Alcohol will not be served outside and there will be games for kids. A portion of proceeds from concession sales will be donated to the new Veterans Memorial Park. Path stones for the park and T-shirts also can be purchased with proceeds going to the memorial. People can donate items, such as calling cards, to be sent to soldiers, sailors and marines overseas. Cash donations will be accepted. Fourth of July Operation Uplink Free Call Day24 hours of free calls for soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan to the U.S. (call hours are in Iraq/Afghanistan time zones). Soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan have the opportunity to call home to the U.S. for free, courtesy of VFW Ohio Charities, during the allocated time.Feedback on the Free Call Day is welcome!
